Obituary of Harold Everet Zavitz

Suddenly on January 10, 2017, Harold Everet Zavitz of Watford at the age of 88. Harold is survived by his beloved wife and best friend Irene (nee Willoughby) Zavitz for 59 loving and special years. Dear father of Wilbert (Stephanie) Zavitz of North Bay, his daughter in law Kathy Zavitz of Watford and Lorraine (David) Otto of Kitchener. Pre deceased by his son Lawrence (2014), his brothers Joseph (2014), Grant (2014) and brothers in law Raymond Butler and Lorne Willoughby. Special Grandpa of Fraser Zavitz, Melissa Zavitz, Joshua, Stephanie, Graham and Serena Otto. Survived by his siblings Noreen Butler of Strathroy, Orville (Jan) Zavitz of Simcoe and Margaret (John) Egan of Petrolia and sister in laws Esther Zavitz, Norma Zavitz and Marjorie Willoughby. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. 50 years ago Harold established H.E. Zavitz Electrical & Heating Inc. and loved to repair equipment. He was known for his maple syrup production, enjoyed farming, was an active member of Arkona Baptist Church and a friend to all who knew him. Harold will be remembered for his honesty and integrity and steadfast faith in his Saviour. Friends will be received on Saturday, January 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at DENNING’S OF WATFORD 519-245-1023 where a funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 15th at 2:00 pm with Pastor Robert Spicer officiating. Interment to follow in Arkona Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the Arkona Baptist Church (PO Box 289 Arkona, 0N, NOM 2BO) or Canadian Diabetes Association.
