Obituary of Ernest Albert Gilliland

After a short battle with cancer, Ernie Gilliland of Watford passed away at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital with his family at his side on Sunday, March 8th, 2015 in his 75th year. Ernie is survived by his loving wife Sharon (nee Williams) of almost 50 years and by his children Shelley (Darrell) Butler and Greg (Shelley) Gilliland, all of Watford. Ernie will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Michael, William (Michelle), Jamie and Derek Butler; Jessica, Jodi, Julie Gilliland and Jennifer Vankoughnet and by his two great grandsons Liam and Sean Butler. Predeceased by his granddaughter Samantha Gilliland and by his parents Fred and Daisy Gilliland, and his in-laws Jim and Dorothy Williams. Ernie will also be remembered by all of his loving extended family on both his and Sharon’s side. As per Ernie’s wishes a private family service has taken place. Interment at St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery (Wisbeach). Donations to the Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation or the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario would be appreciated by the family.
