Kim, Lynn, Jill, Ann, Jane
Suzanne just notified me of your Dad's passing. She saw it on a Facebook page.
I am so sorry that you have lost your dad, He always seemed a very likeable man. I last spoke with him at one of your Aunt Pat's viewings. We had a nice, if brief, conversation. I am glad that he got to see so many grandchildren, I know that all of you will miss him very much.
My sincerest condolences.

The community has lost an icon. A husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, confidante and a true friend. A kind and gentle man such as Merrit shall never be forgotten and will remain forever in our hearts and our memories. His laugh was as contagious as his smile was infectious. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you today, tomorrow and always.

I just heard of Uncle Merrit's passing! I am so thinking of all of you today and so wished I had heard in time to be there - he was a lovely lovely man that I know had nothing but pride and love for his girls. I so remember him teaching me as a little girl the two step at Kim's wedding and laughing with me as I stepped on his feet! He really was a gentle soul and I will miss him.

Merritt delivered furnace fuel to my dad's place and when Merritt brought in the bill dad would always have a coffee waiting. Merritt was a kind hearted man and a good neighbor. I use to enjoy receiving a small wave in passing and the occasional howdy neighbor from him. After he proudly built his home, he would offer treats to my kids when they rode their bikes in the cal de sac, they will forever remember his kindness and I appreciated this traditional values.
I hope the Williams family he left behind find comfort in each other. And I wish Pat my sympathy as well.
He knew his time was precious, those he chose to spend it with were very fortunate.
