Elverta, Jackie, Steve and Family, We are so sorry to hear about Mac. We had no idea that Mac has passed away until last night. The slide show of pictures sure brought back great memories. I remember some of the family pictures proudly displayed at Marg's house. It was always nice to stop in for gas and see that friendly smile from Mac. Brother Jim sure enjoyed his time at the coffee shop visiting with him and friends. Watford has lost one of its pillar's. Such a nice guy. Our hearts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Elverta and family.
We send our heartfelt condolence to you all. Our apology for sending it late. But Sandie wanted to send you a special poem as well. We hope it will comfort you at this time.
Mac
A man stands at the counter.
Reading his paper while sipping his coffee.
He glances at his wife Elverta with pride .
For she is preparing the first pot of coffee.
Another day, another work week begins.
As clients walk in the door it chimes away.
Mac watches thru the window for the drive ins.
With their smiles in place, service begins.
A family based business built to serve.
A fixture in the community landscape, to be sure.
Whether you be family, friend or stranger.
Everyone received the same good service.
But When the doors closed at the end of the day.
Family time reigned supreme for the night and week's end.
Whether eating a meal or sharing the day's events.
Memories were made by working and having fun together.
Participating in community events with fellow neighbours.
Consisting of a meeting here or an event there.
Maybe It was Baseball or hockey games or corn fests.
The Golden rule was that you showed up and pitched in.
Adding to the mix was the extra's Mac did.
Picking up a seniors car to get their oil change done.
Taking Towing calls in the middle of the night.
He never shied away from any of it.
Visiting with news from home or Listening about the West.
Discussing cars, getting answers for mechanical mysteries.
Giving a son a ride home or to an airport no matter the time.
Mac always did it from his heart and with a smile.

Mackie was a childhood friend growing up in Watford. He was also in our wedding party.
Over the years, we didn't spend a lot of time together due to busy families, but always knew where each other was.

So sad to hear of Macs passing. He pulled my car out of the ditch for free once when i was in my early twenties and worked beside him at the old bodyshop. Thats the time when he actually would carry conversation with me. I'm guessing that was actually the time when I graduated from being a punk kid to a productive adult! RIP Mac.

So terribly sorry to hear of Mac's passing. Our community has lost someone truly great. He was always so kind and caring when I would stop and get gas before heading off to work. In winter, he would always tell me to take care, drive carefully, and if it got really bad to turn back for home. He will be sorely missed.

My condolences on the passing of Mac. Even though I left Watford 50 years ago, Mac remains one of those solid and fond remembrances of my home town. Memories from going with my dad to the station for $2 worth of gas, to hanging out at the garage with his brother Bob and other friends, to the seemingly endless stop and start drills he ran as a hockey coach. Mac will be missed.

Elverta, Marg, Bob and family, please accept my sincere condolences to the MacLachlan family, on the passing of Mac.Although being away from Watford for several years I have fond memories of stopping in at MacLachlan's service station to have our vehicles serviced, stop in for a cold pop or coffee and a treat, try to beat the pinball machine, gather with friends for a hockey tournament or fox hunt.
