John and Sylvia and Family
We wish to express our sincere condolences on the loss of Gramma G. (as our girls always called her). She was a very kind, gentle, and spirited woman. She certainly had the ability to tell it like it is. Our girls enjoyed visits with her at Halloween and if there was a stray little kitten in the neighbourhood she had that generous heart to take in an extra one. From our family to yours, may you always remember how much of a wonderful person she was. Rest in peace Gramma G.

Condolences from our family to yours. Marion and John and family are part of my earliest memories. I will always remember Marion as a strong and honest, out-spoken woman, blessed with insight and a wonderful sense of humour. Our mother, Ethel, who just celebrated her 90th birthday, asked that we mention her special fondness for Marion, whose courage was inspiring. We hope that John, Tom, Gord, Liz and their families are comforted by the expressions of high regard that Marion's many friends are writing today. Thinking of you - Ethel Gilliland, Stewart.

We are both so sorry to hear of Marion passing. John and I were delighted to know her and I have so many fond memories of her from my childhood. Although my cousin I thought of her as a favourite Aunt and her children as equally special. I loved her forthright and authentic manner and the joy she showed in living everyday. It has been some years since I have had the chance to spend time but I can still hear her delightful laugh twinkling in the summer air. In the last few years Marion and her band of quilting ladies added stitches to some quilts for my children Amy and Tony for their weddings and I will be forever grateful for their beautiful work. I think that we have all felt that Marion would be a steadfast fixture who would just go on forever and I like to think that she has done just that in her leaving so many special memories in everyone she met.I wish her family peace and courage as you lay her to rest as I am unable to be with you this week. Love Joan and John Tabbert

Mrs. Gilliland was the best friend our mares and foals could ever have. She raised Teddy from a wee orphan foal to a strong horse with special care. Equally strong was her love of good cattle which she made out of whatever came to call her farm home. She will be missed.

It was an honour to be involved in this lovely ladies care if only briefly and inspiring to see the love and dedication of her family. My heart goes out to the family during this loss.
