Obituary of Maxena Jean Hollingsworth

Hollingsworth, Mrs. Maxena Jean (nee Cook) It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Maxena Jean Hollingsworth at Strathmere Lodge in Strathroy on Monday, November 24, 2014, at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife of Don. Loving mother of Rick Hollingsworth (Sandra), and Jane von der Recke (Eric). Loving grandmother of Nathan (Julie), Erika (Matt), Joel (Sarah), and Kurt (Stephanie). Great-grandmother to Kari, Addison, Eloise, Keegan, Brett, Maggie, Owen, and Camden. Jean will also be missed by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother L.S. Daughter of the late Lloyd & Anna Cook. The family would like to thank the staff of Sydenham Meadows at Strathmere Lodge for their care and compassion for the last five and a half years shown to Jean. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Vandewalle and Dr. Mary Jenkins for her care. Having met as high school sweethearts, Jean was married to Don for 66 years. Jean was a graduate of Alma College in St. Thomas. Together, they ran Don Hollingsworth Men’s Wear in Watford for many years. Jean was a member of the Trinity Anglican Church, a choir member, and a member of Constance Graham ACW. Jean also a gifted musician and singer. She loved playing with her grandchildren and was loved by her many friends including her circle of crazy eights players. Friends may call at the WATFORD CHAPEL OF DENNING FUNERAL DIRECTORS, on Thursday, November 27, 2014, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 am. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Parkinson’s Society or to the Trinity Anglican Church building fund would be appreciated by the family.
