Obituary of Nellie Vanderburgt

It is with heavy hearts, that the family of Nellie Vanderburgt announces her peaceful passing at home on Monday August 7^th, 2023, at the age of 87.

Loving wife and best friend to Bill of 66 years.  Cherished mother of Jim & Edith Vanderburgt, Debby & Neil Fulkerson, Diane & Les Kozachuk, and Cathy & Steve Gosden.  Proud and devoted grandmother of Stephanie (Jay) Duckett, Greg (Lauren) Milner, Stephen Vanderburgt (Jennifer), Brooke Gosden (Matt), Riley Gosden (Alex), Nicholas Kozachuk (Teya), and Andrew Kozachuk (Tess).  She will be dearly missed by members of the Straatman and Vanderburgt families.  She showed immense love and kindness towards her family and extended that love to a circle of friends made throughout her life.  She loved to cook, bake pies, play cards and watch the Toronto Blue Jays.  She was a longtime member of the Catholic Women’s League commencing in 1958.  She took pride in her beautiful flowerbeds and enjoyed picking the vegetables for the family business, Vanderburgt’s Market for 21 years.  Most of all, Mom loved to spend time with Dad, the love of her life, and her children and grandchildren.  Mom faced many health challenges throughout her life with strength and positivity.  The family would like to thank her team of caring health professionals, especially Dr. Jeremy Keller, Pharmacist Mike Gleiser at Bossons and the staff at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.

Family and friends will be received at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY on Wednesday August 9^th, 2023, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Strathroy on Friday August 11^th, 2023, at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at All Saints Roman Catholic Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, a donation can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital Foundation.
