She was such a dear, sweet lady. I always enjoyed visiting with Anne and Joe when I was young, as well as in recent years. Anne was the cleanest and tidiest housekeeper I have ever met! Even the barn clothes were folded and stacked as neatly as you would see them in a store. I loved going there for sleepovers, Connie and I would share lots of giggles in the bedroom behind Marj and Anne Marie's room and they would holler at us to be quiet. Helping Connie in the turkey barn and pig barn was fun because we had cows and chickens, and doing chores at someone else's house with a friend, didn't feel like work. Anne was a great cook, I especially loved her Dutch soup, and we always had dessert as well. She was the same age as my mom and they were good friends. Coincidentally, they passed away in the same year. I hope they are eating all the cheese cake they want, together now! My sincere condolences to you Joe and all the family.

I’m so sorry for your loss. This is a difficult time to say goodbye to a loved one when you can’t support each other the way you would like.
I remember Tante Zus as a kind, fun lady. I remember playing tag outside in the dark with the John Van Haaren family & yours!
