Hazel Paulena Parker (nee Schultz) November 13, 1928 - February 2, 2020
With heavy hearts the family of Hazel Paulena Parker (nee Schultz) of Petrolia and formerly of Watford announce her passing at the age of 91 on February 2, 2020 at Lambton Meadowview Villa. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Parker (1993). Lovingly remembered by her daughters Wilma & Jim Johnson, Kathy Brooks, Jackie & Rick Willer and Vicki & Lorne Font and son Rob & Margaret Parker. She will be missed by 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren and many extended family and friends. Predeceased by daughter Laura Zuberovic, grand daughter Jessica Font, great grandson Jeffery Foster and son-in-law, Joe Brooks.
Hazel was born in Saskatchewan, the 13th of 14 children to Rudy & Effie Schultz. She married Stan Parker on November 1, 1947 and they farmed near Kelliher, Sask., for 3 years before moving to Watford, Ontario in November 1950. In addition to raising 6 kids, she was an excellent seamstress, always keeping her 5 daughters outfitted. She turned her sewing skills into a business and took great pride making and altering clothes for many, including 2 clothing stores. When she retired she kept herself busy with crocheting, quilting, gardening and shopping. She was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary, Branch 172 in Watford and the Watford United Church UCW where she was a life-member of both organizations. She also enjoyed her time spent at the Friendship Centre for Seniors in Watford. She moved to the Lambtonian Apartments in Petrolia in 2014 where she made many new friends and spent the last year and a half under the wonderful care of Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia.
Family and friends will be received at Denning's of Watford on Wednesday, February 5th, 2020 from 4:30 - 7:30 pm where a Legion Service will be held under the auspices of Watford Branch 172 at 6:45 pm. Funeral service will take place on Thursday at 1 pm with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment to follow at Watford cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Watford United Church or the Watford Legion Branch 172 would be appreciated as your expression of sympathy. Share a memory at www.watfordfuneralhome.com 519 876-2218.
