My sincerest condolences to the family,
Gord was a close, dear friend of mine when I lived in London.
I likely knew him from about 1984-1989 - roughly that time period.
I'm really glad I got to chat with him a bit and catch up about 20-some years ago.
I will miss him, and cherish those memories, really the best of times.
Something Gord wrote which I've kept all these years: "Up the down staircase"

Louann, Shelley, Racquel and families....So sorry to hear of Gord's passing. My grandma, Jean Ashton just passed after Christmas as well and I was on looking at the condolences that were sent for her. It has been really nice for me to read them all and know that so many people are thinking of us at this difficult time. I hope that you'll find some comfort in reading yours as well. I'm not sure how many times I met Gord but a memory that sticks out for me would have to be Racquel and Jason's wedding with his speech and the Cd's that he was so proud of! It's a shame and it seems as though those are the only times I see anyone any more. My prayers and thoughts are with you all and it's the little things and memories that will help you through! God Bless and Take Care. Stacey

Mrs. Saker and Family: My name is Gary Lemel, and I am writing to express my deep condolences on the passing of Gord. I am the head of the online gaming group that he played with for the last several years under his so aptly chosen moniker of Borntired. It may sound odd to say that a person can grow very attached to someone that they never met in person, but that is exactly how I feel about Born. He was a good friend to everyone he played with, exceptionally loyal, and deeply dedicated to helping everyone he encountered. Despite all of his own troubles, he would be the first one to crack a joke when things were gloomy, or to whisper words of encouragement when someone was down. He was one of the first people that I ever played with when I began gaming online, and we became partners on so many adventures together that I cannot begin to count them. He supported me without hesitation when I took on a leadership role, and was always there to keep me grounded or push me to be a better leader. The impact that Born had on everyone he played with is immeasurable. I like to think our group is family, and he was a vital and crucial part of our community. He touched many lives deeply. His passing saddened all of us, but I hope that while playing online with us he was occasionally able to be transported away from the pain and trials of the real world. If there is every anything we could do for you or in his memory, please do not hesitate to contact us. He is and will be missed greatly. Yours in friendship, Gary Lemel a.k.a.
