For years, Donny served as a valued member of the Forest Legion Pipe Band.
Donny was always "upbeat", "unflappable, and very supportive of all members of the band. Like his brother Ken, Donny was also good company for the social hour after band functions. The annual trip from Grand Bend to Port Sanilac across Lake Huron on "The Straight Arrow" with skipper John Warren at the helm was always "an adventure." One year, Warren warned all of us going on the trip to travel light. In his words "and if anybody brings a suitcase, I'll pitch it over the side!" That year, Donny & I arrived with a big steamer trunk together with a paper bag of limes to prevent an outbreak of scurvy during the long voyage. Skipper Warren was not amused & the trunk never left the dock.
So rest well, Donny, and thanks for the great memories.......
