On behalf of the Parker family who lived next door to the Thorne's, I wish to extend our sincerest sympathy to Jean and family. While it's been almost 40 years since we last lived on the 12th line, the memories of our connections have remained strong. I had the great fortune to have some memorable discussions with Elton in recent years on life, business, farming and family.
Elton's passion for farming encouraged the rest of us to keep an active green thumb - something I maintain to this day. Elton was always willing to tow out a car or help a neighbour in need. My last meeting with Elton was at my mother's birthday celebration 2 years ago. Despite physical challenges, Elton made the effort to come and meet with many family and friends - we really appreciated this.
Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

To Jean and family
Such a bittersweet time for you all. Losing a parent is so difficult even when we know that life isn't as qualitative as it once was. Many of us have so many Elton memories as do you and they certainly make me chuckle. He was such a tease and loved a good time no matter where he was! I remember the times he would be harvesting crops for Dad and then came in for meals and we could never figure out how in the world he could chew so well without his teeth?? So glad that Beth and I had a visit with you a year or so ago.
Take care of each other and cherish those memories,
Hugs,
Angie
