Kathleen "Kay" Jones nee Blunt June 03, 1929 -- November 01, 2012
We, the British branch of the Blunt family, feel saddened by the death
of our cousin Kathleen,"Kay" and extend our condolences to her beloved daughter Judy, and sons Larry and his wife Donna, Brian and his wife Francine, plus adored grandchildren: Bradley, Daniel, Kevin, Jessica and Katelyn.
In the late fifties, a newcomer to Canada, I recall gathering in the cozy kitchen of the family home in Warwick, with Marjorie, Kay, Helen and Betty. We drank tea and nibbled homemade, hot mince pies while Aunt Mabel regaled us with tales of early days in Warwick, causing us to laugh until our sides ached, it felt like we had known each other forever. The warmth of this pleasant evening has stayed with me throughout the years.
Kay and late husband Bob welcomed me into their home, where I enjoyed dressing dolls, blowing bubbles, building towers and reading books with Judy and Larry.
Kind and generous, Kay always found time to help neighbors, was active in the local Church and social group. She excelled in handicrafts: knitting, quilting and crocheting items for holiday bazaars. She was an avid reader and derived much pleasure tending her flower garden.
On later visits to Canada with my sisters and brother-in-law, Kay -- together with Shirley, Helen -- and late husband Dave - ensured that with Harvest supper, hoedown, and sightseeing, all had a pleasant time. We shall miss dear Kay, and pray that God grant her eternal rest, and give comfort to family and friends.
