Obituary of Bartholomeus Veens

VEENS, Bartholomeus Gradus (Bert) Bert passed away peacefully on September 9th, 2015 in his 87th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Hendrika (2005), his granddaughter Teresa (1980) and his sisters Dina and Ada in Holland. Cherished father of Hank (Mary) Veens, Anne (Bill) Trenouth, Ina (Dan) Harrigan, Bill (Carrie) Veens, Geraldine (Rick) McLeod, Bert (Rita) Veens, Rick (Carol) Veens, Patty (Randy) Widdup, Ted (Tanya) Veens, John (Sandra) Veens and Mike (Melissa) Veens. Loved Grandpa, Pappa and Opa of 37 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Gerry (Irene) in Arkona and Jan, Theo, Annie and Henk in Holland. Bert loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent all his time outside with his dogs. He was often seen riding his bicycle and fishing in the pond. Visitation will be held at Denning’s of Watford, 232 Warwick Street on Sunday, September 13th, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will take place on Monday, September 14th, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Watford. Interment to follow at Our Lady Help of Christians Cemetery, Watford. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
